Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the internet, including her self release single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate together with Rihanna. The announcement that she would be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music clip was then followed by a short video in September. On November 9, she released two additional singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. It then came out as a single on its own in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. This track, which was made available with a video posted on YouTube on February 20, 2019, was watched more than 3 million times within the first 7 days. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
